Perm hosted an official presentation of the KAMAZ-6282 electric bus to undergo test drives on the city streets.

The presentation was held in the presence of Dmitry Makhonin, Governor of Perm Krai, Andrey Alyakrinskiy, Minister of Transport of Perm Krai, Aleksey Dyomkin, Mayor of Perm, Samat Sattarov, Director of Passenger Transport of KAMAZ PTC. The test operation of the KAMAZ-6282 electric bus on the roads of Perm will last two months. The innovative transport means will run along 10.7 km long Route #50 Gusarova – Station Perm-2. During the whole term of testing, the operating company will be assisted by experts who arrived in Perm from the service department of KAMAZ PTC to organize high-quality and timely maintenance of the electric bus.

“The KAMAZ-6282 electric bus is comfortable, noiseless, spacious, and I have had a chance to check it out for myself,” said Dmitry Makhonin, Governor of Perm Krai, after a ride on the innovative vehicle. “The electric bus can travel about 50 km per charge whereas the route is 10.7 km long. To charge a battery requires 8-10 minutes on average, full charge takes 24 minutes. The electric bus has arrived for a test period so far. We’ll see how it will work at sub-freezing temperatures, check for ease of maintenance, and analyze passengers’ feedback.”

“Exactly this model – KAMAZ-6282 – is called-for in Moscow nowadays. The design of the tested prototype of the KAMAZ electric bus delivered to Perm wasn’t changed. The body is painted blue and has a traditional slogan which can be translated from Russian as “This bus is electric”. Definitely, for subsequent deliveries under the contract, the electric buses will be made in accordance with the buyer’s design layout,” said Samat Sattarov, Director of Passenger Transport of KAMAZ PTC, in his turn. “We hope that the citizens of Perm, like Muscovites, will duly appreciate all advantages of this vehicle.”

It should be noted that the Agreement on Cooperation stipulating the trial operation of the KAMAZ-6282 electric bus in Perm was signed between KAMAZ PTC and Perm Krai last year during the Transport Week in Moscow. The document was signed by Samat Sattarov, Director of Passenger Transport of KAMAZ PTC, and Andrey Alyakrinskiy, Minister of Transport of Perm Krai. The cooperation is focused on road traffic safety and environmental protection upgrade, arrangement of comfortable and safe conditions both for passengers and for drivers. Besides, it provides for the development of service and other infrastructure to ensure efficient operation of the transport system in Prikamye.
