A simple and reliable station wagon for various fields of application KamAZ-53229 is a universal three-axle cargo chassis with a 6x4 wheel arrangement and a diesel engine of a level up to EURO-2, which was produced by the Kama Automobile Plant for two decades: from the late 1980s to the end of the 2000s. This car continued the factory line of three-axle trucks, the most popular in the construction, industrial and agricultural sectors. The design of KAMAZ-53229 is simple and reliable. Trucks of this model can work not only on paved roads. They easily overcome average impassability, unpaved roads to spring and autumn thaw, are characterized by extremely high stability with lateral and longitudinal rolls on difficult sections of the track. Over the years, the Kama Automobile Plant has offered several modifications of the KamAZ-53229 model on the market (1029-15, 1030-15, 1036-15, 1039-15, 1060-15, 1061-15, 1064-15, 1066-15 and others). They differ with each other in various modifications of the classic KamAZ 8-cylinder KamAZ-740 engine; the presence or absence of a hydraulic lift of the cabin, sunroof in its roof; Bosh high-pressure fuel pump or spare wheel bracket, anatomical seat, a special box on the frame and exhaust protection.

The front spring suspension of KamAZ model 53229 is equipped with a stabilizer bar, which increases the angular stiffness of the suspension, while reducing the roll angle of the sprung part of the car under the action of lateral (lateral) force, and improves the stability of the machine. The rear suspension is made in the form of two longitudinal semi-elliptic single-ear springs, plus hydraulic telescopic shock absorbers. The ends of the springs are made sliding. The brake system on all wheels of the truck is represented by classic drum-type shoe mechanisms with pneumatic drive. Main dimensions: drum diameter is 400 mm.
