The representative delegation of Cummins Inc. headed by Tom Linebarger, President and COO of this American company, visited KAMAZ.

The delegation arrived in Naberezhnye Chelny to negotiate with the management of KAMAZ for prospective cooperation between the partners for engines production. It consisted of top managers of Cummins Inc. working in various areas of business and in different regions of the world, as well as managers of the company’s representative office in Russia.

The American guests visited several important facilities of KAMAZ and the partners’ joint venture ZAO CUMMINS KAMA, a member of a single production cycle of the Russian truck manufacturer. They saw lines for processing of cylinder heads `nd=¸ngine assembly at the JV established by the partners in 2006. The partners visited the department for localization of parts for Cummins engines and the mother engine assembly line in KAMAZ-Diesel Inc. on the area of which CUMMINS KAMA is located. In addition, the U.S. entrepreneurs visited the main vehicle assembly line and the cab assembly conveyor of the Automobile Plant. Then, the parties carried on negotiations with Director General of OJSC KAMAZ Sergey Kogogin in the office of the general directorate.

It should be recalled that CUMMINS KAMA JV produces engines of Series B of the American manufacturer for the Russian market. To date, these are electronically controlled engines which meet Euro-3 environmental standards. In the course of cooperation development, the parties agreed to organize the assembly of Euro 4 and Euro-5 engines as these technical regulations will be introduced in Russia. In June 2010, OJSC KAMAZ and Cummins Inc. also signed a memorandum on realization of the project for production of licensed Cummins in-line diesel engines with a cubic capacity of 4.5 and 6.7 liters satisfying the requirements of Euro-6 international standards.
